Thematically Girly

I love an original and fun party theme! It really helps bring cohesiveness to a party and sets the tone for what guests can expect. Thanks to someone waking me up at 5:30am, I was able to peruse the Party City website for some themes for a girl’s birthday party. Big disappointment in the creativity department- lots of princesses, princesses and more princesses with a sprinkle of zebra prints and ‘I’m sweet and fabulous!’

A princess party is a classic go-to that will never get old. But what about if your daughter wants nothing to do with princesses or you’ve done them for the last 5 years and feel the need to move on to something less princess-like?

My top picks for fresh, feminine and fun inspirations for girls party:

Pancakes & Pyjama Party

I have yet to meet a kid who doesn’t like pancakes, let alone breakfast food! This party involves a sleepover, comfy clothes and delectable maple syrup. This theme with a twist is French Toast & Fried Chicken Slumber Party. And if you think I am crazy for suggesting this combo, check out the Oliver & Bonacini Brunch Menu (this dish is actually super deilsh).

Vintage Chic

Your daughter won’t be familiar with what’s vintage but her friends and her will totally get how awesome and pretty this theme is. Chalkboards galore. Soft pastels. Bunting flags, mason jars, lace and ponies. Simply. Beautiful. To spice it up, you can also add some country flair and turn it into the local fair.

Paris in Spring

Oui, en effet, this thême is superbly chic with a hint of sass. A combination of Eiffel Towers, mille-feuilles, macarons and let’s not forget a bottle of Sauvignon and some baked Camembert for the grown (and sexy) hostess. If you feel that Eiffel Towers are overdone AND you have a winter party AND you love the Fleur-de-lis, you can have a Quebec inspired Winter Carnival Party. Maple syrup will be your friend and the kids will indulge in hot chocolate, sucre à la crème and why not throw in a poutine for good measure?

Sundae Party

Perfect for a summertime afternoon, ice cream will invigorate all your little guests. You can spice it up a bit with some unique toppings like toasted coconut, guava preserve and dulce de leche syrup. To make it even more special, you can invite the partygoers to make their own ice cream.
